President & Chief Executive Officer
Jay Gould was named President and Chief Executive Officer in March 2017, having been named President in January 2016. He joined Interface as Executive Vice President and COO in January 2015. As President and CEO, Jay oversees the overall strategic direction and brand for the world's largest manufacturer of modular carpet with operations on four continents and sales in 110 countries. The company recently expanded into modular resilient flooring with a new luxury vinyl tile line.
Before joining Interface, Mr. Gould was Chief Executive Officer of American Standard Brands, where he re-energized the 138-year-old brand and steered the struggling kitchen and bath products company back on track in terms of profitability, innovation and brand stewardship.
Jay has worked internationally for over 20 years and spent several years living in Japan. He helped to globalize brands such as Minute Maid, Dasani, Graco and Rubbermaid. He successfully built new business platforms in Europe and Asia, which included key acquisitions in Germany, Japan and China. While at Newell Rubbermaid, he managed international businesses that penetrated over 100 countries and generated revenues exceeding $500 million. He also led innovation at Coca-Cola, where he built a global innovation system that included development centers on all six major continents.
Jay graduated from the University of Dayton, summa cum laude, and holds an MBA from Harvard Business School. Jay has three children and resides with his wife in Atlanta, Ga.
